Build Quality, Design and Form Factor
It has been made of solid metal casing which gives it enough strength and also add a great value to product as this tablet does not seem delicate and there is no sound coming out from any parts. It feels and solid and nicely designed, however the thickness of the tablet could had been less, right now its around 10.7 mm thickness. The design is no doubt good, as it comes with two dual speakers on the front so they do not get blocked when you play a song or video and put the tablet on a table or flat surface. Another good thing about the design is the non removable back cover which has a heat dissipation circuit which will make sure to dissipate the heat at times so that the tablet does not get too hot at one point while playing games and doing other things. The form factor of the device is comparable to any other tablet in the market, it around 340 grams in weight and dimensions 199 x 121 x 10.7 mm does make it easy to use and carry it around with you, just like any other 7 inch tablet you might have seen.
Camera Performance
There is no rear camera on the tablet, its a disappointment to some extent, but not everyone takes photos from the tablet rear camera which is usually much lesser than the camera in your smartphone. But still I would call it a miss as we see rear camera on most the budget android tablets like this one.
Display, Memory and Battery Backup
It has TFT capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels and its definitely not a crisp display, the text on the display does not look pixelated but it does feel soft, but still you wont face readability issues in this device. One thing which we don’t like about the device is the bad viewing angles, as per the display technology it does not give very good viewing angles, watching video and other multimedia stuff from an angle will result in blackness of the display or color fading at times.
Software, Benchmarks and Gaming
The software UI is optimised nicely and it runs smoothly without any issues, there is no lag in the UI transitions and you also get some custom home screen widgets as well. The gaming performance of the tablet is also good if not the best, you can play most of heavy games like MC4, Nova 3 as well on the device with high graphic glitch, where as the casual games like Temple run Oz, Subway Surfer runs smoothly and medium graphic intensive games like asphalt 7, front line commando d day runs as well on the device, but we could easily some frame drops at times. Sound, Video and Navigation
The sound quality of the device is great, there are two speaker grills on the front on the edges and both of them produce good high volume of sound which you would expect from a tablet. The sound through the earpiece on voice calls is clear. It can play HD videos at 720p without any issues but some 1080p videos might have audio and video sync issues. It can also be used for GPS navigation with the help of assisted GPS but it does not have magnetic sensor. You will need internet connectivity to use navigation on the device as it requires some data download to lock the GPS.

Conclusion and Price
Lenovo Ideapad A1000 is a great value for money device as its available in the market for a price of around Rs. 9,499 MRP. with good build quality and nice and loud sound output. But for some people the missing rear camera does make a difference even when you may not use it and the front camera could have been better at this price. In all it looks great value of the money as compared to the other tablets in the market if camera in tablet is not a major thing. [poll id=”40″]
